Months and months of long and hard work will finally come to fruition when the 9-11 Tribute is dedicated on Saturday, September 13, at 10 a.m. at the Redondo Beach Civic Center.
Nearly 500 people are expected to attend this momentous event, which will include Glen Walker, anchorman for CBS and K-CAL News, as the Master of Ceremonies. Representatives from the Fire Department of New York (FDNY), New York Police Department (NYPD), the New York Police Department Port Authority, airline representatives, and family members of those who were lost on that tragic day in 2001 will also be in attendance.
The program will include two honor guards, the Los Angeles Police Department Pipe and Drum Band, a bagpiper who will perform Taps, and special guest speaker Bobby Senn (FDNY-retired), who will share his heroic story of being trapped in the collapse of both Towers and how he managed to escape.
This event is open to the entire community, so please bring family and friends to help us remember the civilians, airline employees, Pentagon workers and police and firefighters who lost their lives on 9-11. We encourage you to arrive early as the program will begin promptly at 10 a.m.
